Motorsport history

PSI Motorsport: PSI Motorsport has been synonymous with outstanding motor engineering and innovation for over 30 years.

The early days

What began in a small garage back in 1994 quickly developed into a success story in the tuning scene and international racing.

The early days - About us

PSI Motorsport was the first company to launch the PSI Tuning Box that became popular throughout Europe. Large distributors such as the ATU chain in Germany and the AD Group in Belgium and France were among our first customers in distribution.

This was followed by the patented FFV control units (E85) and our unique DGM gas engine technology.

BMW Belgium commissioned us to supply the engines, exhaust systems and engine management systems for the BMW Compact Cup, relying on our expertise in control unit optimisation.

Success on the race track

An important milestone was our collaboration with Juma – Bart Mampey in 1996, when we convinced BMW to enter a diesel-powered car in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Success on the race track - About us

Although we were unable to finish the race due to drivetrain problems, BMW recognised the potential and took overall victory at the 1998 24 Hours on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

On the back of this success, Honda Belgium commissioned us to manage the brand for the Touring Car Championship and the 24 Hours of Spa. Our Honda Integras were among the favourites in all races and international championships from the very outset. Many racing victories across Europe were to follow.

Our team won the European Championship final in Zandvoort in 1999 and signed up Finnish driver Markus Palttala. Christian Schumacher later introduced him to modern GT racing.

We won the 24 Hours of Zolder in 1999 with Bouvy-Moreau-De Groodt in our Porsche 996 GT3 Cup.

In 2001, Palttala – De Groodt – Tollenaire won the 24-hour race at Spa in our PSI Porsche 996 GT3.

Development of the PSI 996 GT2/R

Our vision was to develop a race-winning GT car based on the Porsche 996 Turbo for the FIA/GT Championship. This led to the birth of the PSI 996 GT2/R, which went on to play a significant role in both international and domestic GT racing from the early to mid-2000s.

Our passion – then and now

We are just as passionate about what we do today as we were at the beginning. Every one of our cars exemplifies our pursuit of perfection, whether in the restoration of classic racing cars or the development of innovative drivetrain technologies. PSI Motorsport Classics stands for tradition, innovation and the tireless pursuit of pushing the boundary of what is possible.
