This first provisional entry list, published by the organisers, confirms the special status of our car amongst the defining models of its generation.
In Plateau 9, our Porsche 996 GT2-R will face an exceptionally strong field featuring some of the most prestigious GT cars from the years 2000 to 2010, including the Maserati MC12. Inclusion in this line-up underscores the rare, iconic and highly competitive sporting character of the GT racing car – designed and homologated by PSI on its own initiative between 2000 and 2006 – and the offshoot of the portfolio of 10 vehicles built in total, which has been used very successfully in historic racing since 2025.
At the 2026 race, our 996 GT2-R will be driven by Chris Harris, the internationally renowned motoring journalist, and Markus Palttala from Eupen. This driver duo lends our campaign added prestige and enhances the sporting significance of our participation.
The line-up published by the organisers features a particularly high-calibre field of iconic cars from this era. At the same time, it highlights the status our PSI Porsche 996 GT2-R has now attained, alongside significant icons of recent GT history.
With the Le Mans Classic Legend 2026, the event is opening a new chapter and embracing a younger generation of vehicles, without losing its spirit and authentic character. For PSI, this announcement marks an important milestone and confirms the historical and sporting value of our involvement.
